This collection of work was shown in 2023 as part of a group BFA Senior Exhibition titled The Extent. The show took place at Gallery 100 at Arizona State University. What follows is the statement prepared for the exhibition.

“The sea’s only gifts are harsh blows and, occasionally, the chance to feel strong…” -Primo Levi
In this collection of work, I explore my own relationship with water. Natural bodies of water have always been a source of comfort and peace for me. Although they can be hazardous, they can teach us a lot about trust and patience. When pulled under with an irresistible force, giving in and drifting until you’re at the surface again is the only way to survive. In creating these pieces, I wanted to investigate how I might bring these naturally occurring formations and their lessons into the realm of daily life. I was curious to see if my sources of inspiration would be visible and tangible in my final products.
Most of the vessels in this exhibition were created using a combination of wheel throwing and sculpting. Over fifteen pieces were thrown, fractured, and combined to create these works.
